Nelson G. Mtui

Nelson Geofrey Mtui, also known by his artistic name Nelly Gm, is a seasoned sound engineer, creative producer, and performing artist with a deep passion for using sound, music, and storytelling to educate, inspire, and empower communities. He currently serves as the Lead Sound Engineer at Ubongo Learning, Africa's leading producer of educational entertainment for children. His sound work powers beloved programs like Ubongo Kids and Akili and Me, reaching millions of children across Africa through TV, radio, and digital platforms. Beyond his professional work, Nelly Gm is an accomplished musician and producer who uses his talent to share messages of hope, unity, and progress. He is the founder and organizer of several impactful community initiatives, including the Mshiri Village Project, which promotes education, entrepreneurship, health, and sports in his home village; Watoto Family Olympics, a vibrant family-oriented sports event; and Mr. Challenge TZ, a brain-stimulating game that blends fun with rewards for participants of all ages across Tanzania. Nelson studied Sound Design, Music Production, and Performance at the College of Arts and Culture in Bagamoyo. Through his creativity, leadership, and passion, he continues to uplift others and drive meaningful change. His life motto is: "Growing Together, Inspiring Change for Tomorrow."
