Ubongo is proud to announce its membership in the United Nations SDG Media Compact, joining a global alliance of over 400 media and entertainment companies committed to accelerating progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This partnership reflects Ubongo’s ongoing dedication to advancing the global agenda for sustainable development through educational media. This membership follows closely after Ubongo’s recent accolade as the winner of the 2024 MIP SDG Award.

As a member of the UN SDG Media Compact, Ubongo is now part of a prestigious network, including key players in global media, all working together to elevate public awareness and drive collective action towards achieving the SDGs by 2030. Through this collaboration, Ubongo seeks to expand its impact, leveraging the power of storytelling and mass media to educate and inspire.

Mwasi Wilmore, CEO of Ubongo, stated: “Becoming members of the SDG Media Compact marks a significant step in our journey to deepen the scope and reach of our educational content. By collaborating with the United Nations and other members of the Compact, we are committed to catalyzing meaningful progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals, while addressing challenges such as limited access to educational resources in underserved communities.”

Ubongo brings to the SDG Media Compact its innovative approach to educational programming, reaching millions across Africa with culturally relevant, multilingual content. Participation in the Compact will further Ubongo’s mission to equip the next generation with the educational foundation and skills they need to shape a sustainable future.
