On Mother’s Day 2017, Nisha Ligon our CEO presented our new “Ubongo: Brains for Change” girl-impact prototyping at Spring Accelerator in Nairobi, Kenya.
Ubongo is the proud recipient of this year’s MIP SDG Award, given in recognition of its progression toward inclusive and equitable quality education (SDG Goal 4).
A Success story of Husna Pantaleo, a Community Education Mobilizer from Fuoni Uwandani in the West B District, Zanzibar. In a Community where parents and all community members prioritize the education of their children, this community is likely to perform well in many other aspects of life.
I hope this letter finds you happy and healthy! It’s been a long time since we’ve gotten to see many of you, but I’m grateful for these other ways we can stay connected in the digital age!
According to the United Nations, school closures in 85 countries to contain the spread of Covid-19 are disrupting the education of over 776 million learners globally. Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, Rwanda, Ghana, Senegal and other countries across sub-Saharan Africa have closed schools to prevent further spread of the virus.
